- Note: "SharuneNavMap.png" does not need to be changed due to it's low resolution unless there is a drastic change to the overall map.
- You should now be finished with editing the map file
- If updating the map, but not adding new labels, follow the steps for editing the label file, skipping step 3, to change the last updated date.
- Instructions for editing the label file:
- Download the following file by right clicking and selecting Save Link As…
- Open the Excel mapinfoeditor.xlsx file. (Download if you don't have it: mapinfoeditor.xlsx)
- Note: You can also open the .xml file in a text or XML editor, the Excel file just helps with editing multiple entries and saves on typing.
- Goto the Developer tab, click Import in the XML group, browse to the current mapinfo.xml file, and import it.
- Note: If you don't have the developer tab enabled, right click on the ribbon, select Customize the Ribbon…, click the checkbox next to Developer, then click OK to save.
- Add a new line in the table for each zone/mob and fill in the necessary information (See the Reference below for more details)
- Update the date in cell B1 to the current date using this format: Month Ordinal day, Year (Example: January 1st, 2012)
- Click Export in the XML group of the Developer tab, enter mapinfo.xml as the file name and export, overwriting the old copy if needed.
- The Excel file doesn't need to be saved with the updates as it is just a tool for editing the mapinfo.xml file
- Make sure you are logged into your Wikidot account, then show files on this page
- Click the Upload a file from your computer link, then the Switch to our old uploader link
- Upload your edited copy of "mapinfo.xml" (browse for the file, hit upload, and select overwrite)
- Check that the file uploaded correctly
- Open the map and verify that all tags/paths are showing up in the proper location
- If everything is working as intended, you're done, else correct the information/adjust locations and recheck.
